Chapter 151 - chapter 150

Chapter 150 – "The Goodbye"

Morning sunlight streamed through the windows of Barry Allen's house. A quiet warmth lingered in the air, the kind that only comes after a long, brutal war is finally over. The living room, usually calm, was now lively—music playing softly, food on the table, and laughter ringing through the halls.

It was a small celebration. Nothing extravagant. Just a party for family. For victory. For welcoming Bart and Nora properly.

Cisco and Wells arrived early, as usual, bickering about something scientific. Frost joked with Caitlin halfway through the morning, cracking a joke as she passed the baton. Joe came not long after, holding a warm smile and that grounding energy only he could bring. Bart and Nora were already there, buzzing with youthful speedster energy, darting around the living room.

And then... he arrived.

Dante.

In his usual black clothes. His red hair wild and untamed. Red eyes glinting under the morning sun. A cigarette rested between his lips. He stepped in quietly, shoulders relaxed, as if he hadn't just helped save the multiverse. Again.

And the party truly began.

Laughter echoed in waves. People joked, danced, ate, reminisced. Dante found himself chasing Cisco after the tech genius swapped his cigarette with a piece of mint gum.

"You're dead!" Dante shouted, sprinting after him.

"No smoking in my house!" Cisco yelled, dodging behind Joe like a child.

The room erupted in laughter. It was life—pure and simple. No villains, no speedsters fighting in the street, no collapsing timelines. Just joy.

Eventually, Dante drifted to a quiet corner, leaning against the wall, smoking softly. The chaos swirled behind him, but he stared forward, peaceful.

Barry joined him.

"Looks like you brought everyone together," Dante said, a slow smile tugging at the corner of his lips. "You made this happen, brother."

Barry chuckled. "Thanks to you."

But Dante shook his head. "No, man. It's you. You've got this… vibe. You pull people in. Make them feel safe. Make them laugh. It's not just your speed, Barry. It's your heart."

Barry looked at him with a soft, concerned smile. "Why do you sound like you're saying goodbye?"

Dante didn't answer immediately.

"Dante?" Barry asked again.

Dante sighed. "Because I am."

The music stopped. Conversations ended. Everyone turned to him.

Dante's voice dropped, quiet and heavy. "You all know what I've been through. I lost my father. My mother. Both of my brothers. I died. I came back. I wielded the Void Force. The Speed Force. I fought Reverse Flash. Zoom. The Black Order. Hell, I even stood face to face with the Monitor and the Anti-Monitor… and I survived. Somehow."

Silence.

"Now I'm human. Just a man again," Dante continued, his red eyes softening. "I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss the speed. The rush. That feeling of the wind crashing into your face like you're alive for the first time."

He closed his eyes for a moment. As if trying to feel it again.

"I lived most of my life alone. I did awful things. I killed. I tortured. I walked a path no one should walk. But I kept walking. And somehow… you all kept walking with me."

His voice cracked just slightly.

"And for that… I'm grateful."

He looked around the room, at everyone—his family. His friends.

"That's why I think it's time to run again. Not with super speed. Just… forward. To the next journey."

Before anyone could interrupt, he turned to Joe.

"You stood by me. Like a father. I never had the guts to say it, but thank you, Joe."

He held out a hand, but Joe pulled him into a tight hug instead.

Then he walked to Caitlin.

"Caitlin. You believed in me when I didn't believe in myself. You healed me—physically, emotionally, more times than I can count."

He looked over his shoulder and grinned. "And Frost… don't even think about freezing my feet like last time You're too much of a drama queen to leave during a serious moment."

Frost chuckled from across the room. Caitlin laughed through her tears.

Dante leaned in and gently kissed Caitlin on the forehead.

Next, he approached Cisco and Wells.

"I still don't know what you two are. Mad scientists? Married rivals? But whatever it is, I love you both."

Cisco gave him a playful fist bump, and Wells shook his hand silently, a rare look of emotion flickering in his eyes.

Then Patty.

"Take care of our speedster, alright?" Dante whispered, hugging her gently.

Finally, Bart and Nora.

They were crying—quiet, sniffling tears that fell freely down their cheeks.

"Hey," Dante said softly. "I'm not dying. I'm just… going."

Neither of them spoke. So he stepped in and hugged them both tightly.

"I don't have kids. But if I did, I'd want them to be like you. And hey, if you ever get bored of your old man—" he tilted his head toward Barry "—just call me. I'll come get you, and we'll run."

They chuckled through their tears.

And then… only Barry remained.

The two stood face to face. No words for a long moment.

Dante smiled.

"Brother."

Barry mirrored him. "Brother."

They hugged—like real brothers. Fierce. Honest. Final.

As they pulled back, Dante whispered, "When I used the Void to rebuild the multiverse after killing the Anti-Monitor… I made sure to erase Eobard Thawne from every single timeline. Every version. Every shadow. He's gone, Barry. For good."

Barry stared at him, stunned.

But before he could say anything, Dante turned to the rest of the room.

"And all of you," he said, his voice rising with a final burst of fire. "If the world ends again… just save it. Dammit. Don't wait around. Do something."

A pause.

"Dante… is on vacation for now. See you around."

And with that, he turned and walked out of Barry's house.

No speed. No flash of lightning.

Just memories. Scars—old and new. Laughter and pain bundled inside him like a storm in a bottle.

Outside, the sun was high in the sky. The wind gently stirred the trees. Dante stood on the porch, staring at the endless blue above him.

He lit another cigarette. Took a long drag.

Then sighed.

"Alright," he muttered to himself. "Where the hell do I go now?"

He smiled, stepping into the light, and walked toward whatever came next.

And so, my journey with this beautiful novel comes to an end.

It was a relatively long story for me — yet a meaningful and special one. It took a great deal of time and effort: writing it in Arabic, revising and polishing it, and then translating it into English using ChatGPT.

Yes, the novel contains mistakes.

But no work is ever free of flaws — that's simply a fact we all know and accept.

Still, I truly hope the story was enjoyed by everyone.

Thank you for all the support and the positive comments that encouraged me to keep going for so long on this project.

Thank you, sincerely, from the bottom of my heart.

To everyone reading this, I'd love for you to check out the novel and share your thoughts and opinions about it.

Thank you all — and I'll see you again very soon, in another novel, another work, and another world.

This was The Miracle Narrator.

May you all remain in God's care.
