Chapter 110: A Visitor from Tomorrow
The celebration was over.
The laughter had faded. The confetti had settled. Slowly, one by one, everyone returned to their own lives.
Kara hugged Barry and Patty tightly before vanishing back into her Earth with a soft gust of wind.
Oliver and Team Arrow returned to Star City, still ribbing Barry about his emotional vows.
The Legends saluted, boarding the Waverider like time-traveling cowboys riding off into the temporal sunset.
And with that, STAR Labs grew quiet again. Calm.
Only a few remained—those closest to home.
Barry and Patty stood by the Cortex window, holding hands and talking softly. Cisco was fixing a fried server nearby, muttering under his breath about "cake frosting in the cooling system." Wells sipped coffee in the corner, ever watchful. Joe leaned back in a chair, finally relaxed after the chaos. Dante sat beside Frost, both of them sharing a rare moment of peace.
The stillness was almost strange after everything they'd experienced. Just when Barry opened his mouth to speak—
Tap. Tap. Tap.
Footsteps.
Deliberate. Soft. Yet somehow full of certainty.
Everyone turned toward the sound.
And there she was.
A girl—young, maybe eighteen—walked slowly through the corridor. She had short black hair that curled slightly at the edges, eyes that glimmered with both energy and sadness, and a smile that mirrored Patty's. But the jawline, the way she carried herself, the way her eyes darted to Barry without hesitation… that was him.
Barry.
Everyone stared, frozen in place.
Dante was the first to break the silence.
"For crying out loud…" He stood up and threw his arms out dramatically. "Cisco, I swear, when are you going to install some actual protection in this place? Do we even have locks? Or is this just the local train station for time travelers now?"
Cisco opened his mouth to protest, but Dante kept going.
"And you," he said, pointing directly at the girl. "Why the hell do you look like our dumb speedster?"
That did it.
Everyone saw it now.
The curve of her nose. The tilt of her smile. The freckles on her cheek that matched Patty's. The slight bounce in her stance that screamed "Barry Allen."
She looked like a perfect fusion of both.
The girl stepped forward, eyes gentle but determined. "I'm Nora," she said, her voice clear. "Nora Allen."
She looked at Barry and Patty, heart in her throat. "I'm your daughter. From the future."
Silence. Again.
Barry blinked. Patty gasped, her hand flying to her mouth. Cisco dropped the tool he was holding. Wells raised an eyebrow. Joe slowly stood up, disbelief etched across his face.
But Dante? He sighed.
"Oh, of course," he said, lighting a cigarette. "Why not? Sure. Future daughter. Time travel. What else the end of the world by some stupid shit face who wants to eat worlds ."
He turned, already moving toward the hallway. "If another multiverse version of Barry walks in here next, I'm setting the building on fire."
But before he could take another step, Nora vanished in a flash of golden lightning—and reappeared in front of him.
Dante froze.
And then she hugged him.
Not a quick hug. Not an awkward one.
A real hug.
Tight. Desperate. Almost trembling.
Dante's arms stayed at his sides, stunned. He looked down at her face—tearful, vulnerable. She didn't run to Barry. Or to Patty. She ran to him.
The room watched in stunned silence.
"…Okay," Dante finally said. "What the hell?"
Nora clung to him for a few more seconds, then slowly stepped back. Her eyes were glassy but warm.
"Uncle Dante," she whispered, smiling through tears.
Dante stared at her. He glanced over at Barry and Patty, both still too shocked to move.
"…Uncle Dante?" he repeated slowly.
He could believe Barry would tell his kids he was an honorary uncle. Sure. That tracked. But this… this felt deeper. Familiar.
"You didn't hug your parents," Dante muttered. "You came straight to me. Why?"
Nora looked down for a moment, swallowing hard. Then she smiled again, softly.
"It's nothing," she said. "I just… missed you."
Dante stared at her, confused. Then, ever so slightly, his expression softened.
He crouched a little to meet her eyes properly. "Hey," he said, gently. "You okay, little one?"
She nodded quickly but said nothing. Her hands fidgeted, her smile trembled.
"You're not from far in the future, are you?" Dante asked, his tone quiet now.
Nora shook her head. "A few years ahead. Not too far."
Cisco stepped forward, clearing his throat. "I mean… that explains the nose."
Barry finally found his voice. "Nora… you're really…"
She turned to him, giving a shy, sweet smile. "Yeah, Dad. I'm really me."
Patty blinked back tears. "You're… beautiful."
"Like your mom," Joe said quietly, full of emotion.
Wells observed from behind his glasses, always reading, always studying. "Fascinating," he muttered. "Time travelers rarely cross emotional lines this boldly. There's something different about her…"
Nora turned back to Dante. "I didn't mean to scare anyone. I just… I had to see you."
"Why?" Dante asked again.
Nora bit her lip, looked down, then finally whispered, "Because in my time… you're gone."
The words dropped like a stone into still water.
Barry inhaled sharply. Patty closed her eyes. Frost looked at Dante, whose jaw clenched slightly.
"I'm sorry," Nora added, quickly. "I know I wasn't supposed to say anything. Time travel rules. But I just… I didn't care. I had to see you again. Even if it's just for a minute."
Dante stared at her, speechless.
Then, finally, he pulled her into another hug—less surprised this time. Warmer.
"I'm here now," he said simply. "So, for today… that's enough."
They stood like that for a moment. A girl from the future. A man who didn't know he'd meant so much.
Barry walked over and gently put his hand on Dante's shoulder.
"Guess you really are family," he said.
Dante didn't look at him. "Took you long enough to realize."
Everyone smiled.
Even in the quiet of STAR Labs… the future had come knocking.
And her name was Nora.
