Chapter 397
Julie's POV
Every muscle in my body locked up in absolute panic, his ruthless implications swirling through my mind like a violent hurricane. He was planning to take his revenge on me in the most agonizing ways possible, dangling my only brother's life over my head completely forgetting that he was the one who had started this dirty game, the one who had coldly decided to sell me off like a commodity after making me believe he actually loved me.
I swallowed a ragged breath, crossing my trembling hands over my damp chest as a wave of bitter defeat crashed over me.
"You're threatening me with my brother?!" I cried out. "Why the hell are you doing this? Because I escaped from this filthy swamp? But I... I know the truth, Robert. I know damn well that you—"
With a swift, dismissive wave of his hand, his mouth twisting into a harder, more cynical sneer, he cut me off with words that tore my heart to shreds.
