Jay-Jay's POV
We were finally back at the table. My stomach was doing a happy dance because the food was finally here. No more flirting, no more "Revealing Dress" girls—just me, my handsome (but annoying) boyfriend, and the loudest group of people in the world.
Elara looked at the stroller next to her and sighed like she was carrying the weight of the universe. She reached in and pulled out Baby Grazel.
"Here," Elara said, handing the baby to me. "Take her. She's staring at my sandwich like she is troublemaker. She looked at me, gave a toothless grin, and then—BAM!
She swung her tiny, chubby hand and slapped Keifer right across his expensive-looking face.
Oh my god. Grazel, you are my hero. I've wanted to do that all week! Six months old and already doing God's work.
"Did... did this tiny human just hit me?" Keifer asked, touching his cheek in shock.
"She has good taste in people she wants to bully," Aries muttered, trying to hide his laugh behind a napkin.
Keifer didn't get mad, though. He leaned in, poking Grazel's fat little legs. Then he looked at me with a "spicy" smirk.
"Look at you, jay. You're a natural with kids. Is this practice for our future? Because I think our babies would be just as cute, though hopefully less violent toward their dad."
My future? Our babies?! Sir, we are at a dinner table, not a wedding rehearsal! My face is currently the temperature of a volcano! I thought of it but not worry to say it loud.
"Keifer, shut up and eat your rice!" I hissed, my face turning bright red.
From the other end of the table, Ci-N—who is only fifteen but acts like he's in a Shakespearean tragedy—let out a scream that sounded like a dying seagull. He started sobbing dramatically into Felix's shoulder.
"MY PARENTS!" Ci-N wailed. "My Jay-Jay and my Keifer are no longer mine! They have a new baby! I am an orphan at fifteen! The betrayal! The agony!"
"Ci-N, stop it. You're fifteen, not five," Mayo said, shoving a piece of corn into Ci-N's mouth to stop the noise.
Elara, who was calmly eating her grilled asparagus and tofu because she's a strict vegetarian and apparently too cool for steak, let out a sharp, cold sound.
"Tss."
I think she really is keifer's lost sister, I have to conduct a Dna test.
Keifer's POV
The amusement park lights were dimming, and the "Food War" had finally ended with everyone's stomachs full and wallets empty.
It was time to head home.
I immediately reached out and grabbed Jay's arm, pulling her toward my car.
"I'm dropping you home, jay. And don't argue. Maybe then we can spend some actual quiet time together without a fifteen-year-old drama queen or a baby in the middle."
I gave her a wink, already imagining the peaceful drive. But before she could even answer, a shadow loomed over us.
"No," Aries said, his voice like a stone wall. "I'm taking her home."
I felt my eye twitch. "Aries, buddy, friend... you have a girlfriend. Go mind her. Jay is my official girlfriend now, which means she belongs in my passenger seat."
"She's my sister," Aries retorted, stepping between us and literally unhooking my hand from Jay's arm.
"Blood is thicker than your expensive car oil, Watson. She's going with me."
"Listen, 'Brother-in-law,'" I snapped, feeling the competitive heat rise.
"If you're going to take my girlfriend with you, then fine. Send your girlfriend with me. Fair trade, right?"
"Do you want to die?" Aries asked, his face turning terrifyingly calm. "Because that's how you die."
"Oh, come on!" I threw my hands up. "You're being overprotective! Jay, tell him you want to go with the handsome guy with the heated leather seats!"
Jay-Jay's POV
Here we go again. It's like watching two lions fight over a piece of steak, except the steak is me and I'm standing right here!
"Guys, I can literally just ride with Felix—" I started, pointing to where Felix was unlocking his SUV.
"NO!" both of them shouted at the same time.
"She's not riding in that SUV!"
Keifer argued. "Felix drives like he's playing a video game and he's on his last life!"
"She's riding with a responsible adult. Me," Aries insisted.
While the "Alpha Males" were busy measuring their egos, I noticed Elara standing a few feet away.
Her phone buzzed in her pocket. She pulled it out, stared at the screen for a long second with a weird, unreadable expression, and then clicked it shut without answering.
She looked at the chaos of Section E one last time. "I'm going home," she said, her voice cutting through the noise. "You guys carry on with your primitive territorial dispute. It's boring me."
"Hey, Elara!" Felix called out from the driver's seat of his SUV. "It's late! I'll drop you home! My SUV has plenty of room and the AC is great!"
Elara looked at Felix, then at the SUV, then back at Felix. "I'd rather walk through a pit of hungry crocodiles than be trapped in a car with your playlist, Felix. Goodbye."
She didn't wait for a second offer. She turned and walked toward the parking exit, her back straight and her "Ice Queen" aura back at 100%.
Keifer's POV
I was still mid-argument with Aries about who had the better driving record when Edrix walked up to me.
He looked unusually serious, his hands shoved deep into his pockets.
"Keifer," Edrix said, interrupting my brilliant point about safety ratings.
"Let Jay go with Aries for tonight."
I blinked, surprised. "What? Why are you taking his side?"
Edrix glanced at Jay, then back at me, his eyes dark and focused.
"Let her go. I have something I need to talk to you about. Just us."
The hair on the back of my neck stood up. Edrix doesn't use that tone unless something is seriously wrong.
I looked at Jay, who looked just as confused as I was, and then back at Edrix.
"Fine," I muttered, reluctantly letting go of the dream of a romantic drive.
"Aries, she's all yours. But if there's a single scratch on her, I'm buying your house just to evict you."
"Shut up, Watson," Aries grumbled, finally leading a waving Jay-Jay away toward his car.
I turned to Edrix, my jaw tight. "This better be important, Edrix. What's going on?"
