Qin Jiao accepted the silver lock and said with a smile, "Uncle, let's put the past behind us. We should all look to the future."
"Yes, you're right! You're right!"
When Old Mrs. Qin saw this, she quickly pulled her youngest son aside and said in a low voice, "Jiqun, why didn't you take this chance to have Xiao Jiao arrange a job for you? Look at you, all covered in dirt every day. It's such hard work."
Qin Jiqun was tan from the sun. He grinned. "Mom, my job is fine, really. And I get along great with my coworkers."
Old Mrs. Qin frowned, incredibly frustrated.
'How good could a construction job possibly be? He could be working at the clothing company or the restaurant, out of the wind and rain. How much better would that be?'
Qin Jiao had actually overheard them but could only shake her head helplessly.
'It's a miracle my own father and my uncle didn't turn out crooked,' she thought. 'Your family of origin is so important for a child's development.'
