Ivy Tanner looked up and met her eyes. "You see, I'm truly at the end of my rope."
Claire Sinclair retorted, "There's always a way out. Being alive isn't about choosing how to die, but choosing how to live."
Ivy Tanner couldn't help but laugh. "You have such a sharp tongue."
Claire Sinclair wasn't bothered. "Mr. Quincy is just as sharp. I guess it's rubbing off on me."
At that, Ivy Tanner stopped laughing. She even sounded a little envious. "You're so lucky, it's enviable."

Ivy Tanner asked curiously, "What kind of plan?"
Claire Sinclair said, "Whatever it takes, you have to stick to Ethan Kingsley's side and make it impossible for him to get rid of you. If he gets annoyed, just bring up my name. Tell him you want to call me. He generally won't refuse to let you."
Ivy Tanner was confused. "Why wouldn't he refuse?"
