On impulse, Claire Sinclair grabbed his large hand with both of hers, opened her mouth, and bit down hard on the fleshy part of his palm.
But Adrian Quincy heartlessly pushed her away, his tone gentle as he asked, "Claire, when was your last period?"
Claire Sinclair looked at him, confused and also very annoyed. She released her bite, her tone unfriendly. "Why are you asking that?"
In the past, he would have lost control and carried her upstairs long ago, without all this pointless chatter.
Adrian Quincy leaned in close to her ear, his voice husky. "I want to know about your special time."
Claire Sinclair: "I'm not telling you!"
Adrian Quincy said softly, "Be good. Tell me."
"I won't. You could beat me to death and I still wouldn't tell you..."
"Tell me, or I'm ignoring you tonight."
