Mrs. Lowell scoffed, "That deadbeat never does anything right, but since he's gone and done this, it might actually work. Even if it's not Young Master Quincy, it'll be someone else."
"What do you mean, someone else?"
"I told you to read more and learn a thing or two about strategy. The general election is coming up. Who doesn't want to take down their rivals? I think there's a nine-in-ten chance that deadbeat was used by someone."
At her words, the gloom in Melanie Sinclair's eyes instantly vanished. She asked impatiently, "Mom, what's going on?"
Mrs. Lowell explained patiently, "Although the list of presidential candidates isn't out yet, everyone wants to win over Quincy Manor. The one using that deadbeat might not be Young Master Quincy, but one of the other candidates. In any case, this is definitely not simple. But it has nothing to do with us. We'll just wait and see."
