"Wh-what…" Jenna was terrified. She stumbled back two steps, so startled she nearly missed the stairs behind her and fell.
Luckily, Ryan Osborne's iron-like arm wrapped around her, pulling her up. His smile vanished as he said lightly, "I was just kidding. If you want to write that story on me, how about you join me for some French food?"
"Huh?" She was stunned for a moment, then seemed to remember something. "Wait for me. I need to go upstairs for a second. I'll be right down."
A few minutes later, she came back down, carrying a paper bag with a suit inside.
From a distance, she saw the man standing outside the revolving glass doors. One hand was tucked into his pants pocket, his face turned to the side as he smoked a cigarette.
He looked so handsome when he smoked, carrying a man's worldly air with a hint of rebelliousness.
Jenna faltered. Coming back to her senses, she gave a self-deprecating laugh. 'What on earth am I even thinking?'
