Unprepared, Joan was a bit chagrined. "Finn, when did you exchange the money?" They had been together the whole trip; she couldn't imagine when he'd had the time to get cash.
But Finn Norris just gave a mysterious smile and playfully pinched her nose. "I was prepared. I exchanged the money a while ago."
"I'll pay you back..." Joan scratched her head, a bit embarrassed. 'My own five hundred thousand RMB is still just sitting in my bank account.'
"Paying me back? Don't be a stranger. If you really feel that bad, just treat me to a few meals when we get back home."
"Okay." Joan nodded. It would have been a lie to say she wasn't touched.
The thought of how well Finn Norris took care of her filled her with an inexpressible joy, as if she had gained a big brother out of thin air.
"Alright, stop spacing out. Shall we go in?" Finn Norris grabbed the handle of Joan's rolling suitcase and patted her shoulder.
