Finn Norris appeared out of nowhere, now standing right beside her, his hands tightly gripping hers.
Her originally icy hands suddenly felt incredibly warm.
"F-Finn." 'It's so late. Why hasn't he gone home yet?'
"Joan." Finn Norris looked at Joan Shaw, a complicated emotion in his eyes, but the words on the tip of his tongue refused to come out.
"I heard what the captain said to you."
"Haha. So, are you sad for me, Finn? It's fine. I'm just leaving for a little while. I'll be back." She feigned a relaxed tone, forcing a smile onto her face.
Finn Norris wanted to make her stay, but he couldn't find a good excuse.
The three words, 'I like you,' were like a fishbone stuck in his throat, impossible to swallow and impossible to spit out.
"Finn, I really can't bear to leave you all. I really can't." She had only been pretending to be calm, but it wasn't long before she could no longer suppress the bitterness in her heart. She threw herself into Finn Norris's arms and began to wail.
