In a coffee shop on International Street, Fake Shay sat at a window seat, wearing sunglasses and holding a steaming cup of cappuccino.
She kept glancing at the endless stream of people outside, but there was no sign of the person she was waiting for.
Her contact with Morgan Sinclair was one-way. She would send a signal, and he was supposed to show up at the designated location after receiving it.
But it was already several minutes past the appointed time.
Fake Shay grew anxious. She glanced at her watch and saw that her coffee was almost gone.
She picked up a magazine from the table and pretended to read, but her mind was elsewhere.
「One hour later」
"Miss, would you like anything else? If not, shall I clear this away for you?" a server asked, walking over and gesturing to the empty cup on her table.
Fake Shay touched her face, embarrassed. "Oh, yes. Thank you," she said with a smile.
