He Lang pulled his daughter down to sit beside him, then turned his gaze to Qin Haize.
"I hear you're a pilot now?"
Qin Haize nodded.
"How come there's been no word from you these past few years? Are pilots that busy?"
Qin Haize glanced at He Ziluo out of the corner of his eye before saying, "When I first joined, I was sent to a closed military academy. I couldn't contact the outside world and had no holidays. I was only assigned to an aviation brigade early last year."
He Ziqian couldn't help but chime in, "No wonder you left in such a hurry and we didn't hear from you for years! So you couldn't even contact the outside world. Tsk, tsk. That's the military for you—the discipline is ironclad."
Xue Xingzhou asked, "Is your grandfather still in the military?"
"He retired last year."
"Was it your decision to join the army, or your grandfather's?"
Qin Haize said, "It was my decision, and my grandfather's as well."
