The next day after breakfast, Xue Yue went back to Yangjia Gou alone. She didn't bring the children, just the half slab of pork they had left at home.
When she arrived, Xue Changlin's family was in the middle of breakfast.

Xue Changlin and Liu Hongxing were stunned for a moment, but they quickly recovered.
"That's wonderful. Whose daughter is she? What village is she from?"
"My sister-in-law is from town. Her father is the mentor who trained my brother at the Public Security Bureau. They've already registered their marriage and want our two families to have a meal together. Do you think you'll go?"
