Her unusual reaction made a glint appear in Sean Donovan's eyes. 'If she had really forgotten him, why would she need to use such decisive words to force herself to forget?'
He didn't know why that man had given up on her. All he knew was that this wonderful girl had appeared in his life, and he had to hold on to her tightly.
So he squeezed her hand and said softly,
"Let me meet your son someday soon."
"Mm..."
She pulled her hand back and stood up.
"I'll go wash some fruit!"
Sean Donovan stared at his empty palm, a wave of disappointment washing over him. He stood up as well and called out to her faintly,
"Don't worry about it, Anna. I should get going. I have things to do early tomorrow morning."
She turned back and smiled.
"I'll see you out then!"
