The land on both sides of the road grew more and more desolate, with only the occasional livestock or mule crossing their path.
The traffic on the road thinned, and the settlements on either side also grew sparse and barren.

The Tianshan mountains were located in the far western frontier, spanning the territories of three nations. Its peaks soared into the clouds, perpetually covered in ice and snow, a desolate and uninhabited land.
