But Autumn Rhodes was in agony and in no condition to go looking for trouble with Susan Caldwell, so she could only bear it for now.
Vera Xavier wasn't worried about Autumn Rhodes at all. The next morning, she decided to head home. But just as she got downstairs, she saw Damian Yale waiting. She acted as if she hadn't seen him and walked straight outside.
But Damian Yale called out to her. "Vera Xavier, we're going to The Saffron Hills to see the autumn leaves. If you're free today, why don't you join us!"
"I'm busy," Vera Xavier refused flatly.
Damian Yale hadn't expected such a blunt refusal, but he still smiled and said, "You've only been on campus for less than a month. What could you possibly have to do?"
"Whether I'm busy or not is my business. What's it to you, senior?" Vera Xavier said with an indifferent expression.
Damian Yale was so taken aback by her retort he nearly choked. 'She doesn't give me any face at all!'
