Rona Langdon nodded. "I know what I'm doing, so don't you worry."
Cara Preston's eyes darted around for a moment. "You're right, Mom," she said. "But I think this is a golden opportunity for me to make a good impression on Master Nathan."
"How so?" Rona Langdon asked.
Cara Preston lowered her voice. "Under normal circumstances, very few people can catch Master Nathan's eye. To win his attention, I need something that will truly impress him, something that will change his opinion of me and leave him with a very good impression. That means the gift has to be elegant, impressive, and appropriate. At the same time, it has to make me look cultured and tasteful."
Rona Langdon frowned. "You're not wrong, but where am I supposed to find something like that for you?"
