Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: The Bizarre System

Wu Yue paid him no mind, her gaze fixed resolutely on the Clan Leader of the Snow Tiger Tribe. "I swear to the Beast God that my Father obtained this Beast Crystal hunting alone. It does not belong to the tribe."

Although the woman's voice was faint, it was exceptionally clear in the silence.

Daring to swear an oath to the Beast God meant the woman was telling the truth. She had the sole right to control this Beast Crystal.

The Clan Leader of the Snow Tiger Tribe looked at the gaunt, weak woman on the ground, who seemed as if she would go to meet the Beast God in the next second. He agreed without a hint of hesitation. "You can stay, as an ordinary member of the tribe."

He extended a hand as large as a fan, and Wu Yue removed the Beast Crystal from her neck and placed it in the Beastman's wide palm.

The sturdy man behind her and the rest of her tribe watched Wu Yue with complicated expressions before they were finally driven away by the Snow Tiger Tribe's Half beastman Warriors.

The weakened Wu Yue was taken to a spacious cave. The walls had been smoothed down, and inside was a nest of dry grass. That was where she would sleep from now on.

The ones who brought her over were two Pure Human women from the Snow Tiger Tribe.

"We'll bring you breakfast tomorrow."

With that, they left her a few sorry-looking fruits and departed.

Staring at the cave, which was countless times better than the one in her previous tribe, Wu Yue finally succumbed to her exhaustion, closed her eyes, and fell asleep.

In the pitch-black cave, a small green speck of light flew out from Wu Yue's heart. It circled her once before sinking back into her chest and vanishing.

But a moment later, ripples of pale green light spread out from her heart like ocean waves, eventually enveloping her entire body.

Beneath her filthy, straw-like hair, a rosy tint gradually returned to her deathly pale complexion. Her painfully furrowed brow smoothed out, and the pale green light in her chest subsided completely.

Wu Yue was woken by the noise outside her cave. Mornings in the Snow Tiger Tribe were very lively; the Beastmen were heading out to hunt, and the women were setting out to gather, ensuring the tribe's food supply for the day.

She struggled to prop up her body and move closer to the cave entrance. Sunlight streamed into the unobstructed opening, and she could even see dust motes dancing in the beams.

Her body was wrapped in a layer of dried grass, tied only at the waist.

By now, the dried grass had come loose, with only a few strands clinging to her body, barely covering the most essential parts.

The intense headache from yesterday had allowed her to receive the original owner's memories. She now knew that the body's previous owner had already died from a fever. As for why she had woken up in this body...

Wu Yue wanted to know the answer to that as well.

'Damn it all. Getting an IV drip for a cold was enough to get me transmigrated? Was this some kind of shady backroom deal?'

"DING~ Hello, Host. System 438, at your service!"

Just as Wu Yue was grumbling to herself about her bizarre transmigration, a mechanical voice echoed in her mind. Such a jolt so early in the morning made her break out in goosebumps.

'So...'

Her mouth twitched. "What are you?"

The mechanical voice rang out once more. "I am not a 'thing.' I am System 438."

Wu Yue was howling with laughter internally, but she forced herself to maintain a deadpan expression. "Mm-hm, you're not a 'thing'. You're 'four-three-hate'."

The system went silent for a moment. It had a nagging feeling its host was insulting it, but it had no proof...
