Zachary Redgrave led Harrison Yates to the sofa by the hand and sat down, raising a challenging eyebrow at Laura Lowell. "FYI, I'm officially off the market."
"Laura, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to hide it before. I just... I just wanted to get closer to Redgrave, so I dressed up as a boy."
Laura Lowell smiled, setting her glass of juice on the coffee table. Her light, calm voice held a teasing note. "Lord Redgrave, things are moving a little fast between you two, don't you think? You wouldn't happen to have had a crush on Yates all along, would you?"
That was something Zachary Redgrave would die before admitting.
"Don't be ridiculous. I only just started to fall for her. She was dressed as a guy before; there's no way I'd be into men."
"And you think we'd believe that?"
"Like hell. You have to believe me. I only like women."
"You're only digging yourself a deeper hole. Just stop explaining. We get it."
