"I told Ward you'd meet the girl she mentioned. When are you free in the next couple of days to get a meal together?"
Maeve Miller said with a helpless sigh as she watched Leo Lowell walk away.
After eating, Laura Lowell turned on the TV out of boredom. The new series starring Zachary Redgrave and Fiona Keating happened to be on. The sight of Fiona Keating's vixen-like face made it impossible for her to keep watching. 'She's absolutely disgusting.'
Maeve Miller walked over, carrying a plate of freshly washed fruit. "Laura, have some fruit. It's good for the baby."
"Mom, I just ate. I'm really worried I'm going to get fat after having the baby."
Maeve Miller handed a peeled apple to Laura Lowell. "Fruit won't make you fat. Besides, you're not fat at all. If people didn't know, they wouldn't even be able to tell you're pregnant."
"Mom, you really know what to say."
