After hanging up, Laura Lowell looked at Aiden Shaw, who had just come downstairs. "Ethan's at our place," she said. "Let's head back for a bit. We can grab a change of clothes and some toiletries for you while we're there."
"What's he doing at our house?"
"Mom bought a ton of stuff for the baby and had Ethan drop it all off."
Laura Lowell got up from the sofa. She first popped into the kitchen to say a word to Mindy Miller, then went upstairs to grab her coat before leaving with Aiden Shaw.

After Ethan Shaw opened the door, he hauled all the bags, big and small, from the entrance into the house. "Tell me, is my mom crazy?" he grumbled. "The baby isn't even the size of a grain of rice, and she's already bought a toy sports car. She's really something else."
