He sat down by the bed and pulled the blanket over Laura Lowell, his voice incredibly doting as he mumbled to himself, "Kicking off the covers again."
Feeling the touch on her body, Laura Lowell rolled over and sleepily opened her eyes. "Morning, honey."
Laura was so groggy, she'd completely forgotten she was at her mother's house. Just as she did every morning she woke up beside Aiden Shaw, she naturally wished him a good morning.
"You went to bed too late last night. You can't do that anymore."
Aiden Shaw gazed at her indulgently, the pads of his fingers gently smoothing the stray hairs on her forehead.
Laura's eyelashes fluttered. She raised a hand to wrap around Aiden Shaw's neck, her soft voice raspy from just waking up. "I just wanted to say goodnight."
Aiden Shaw wrapped both hands around her lower back and, with a gentle pull, lifted her from the bed. "You're carrying our baby now; you can't go to bed so late."
"I know. It won't happen again."
