Raina Lynn's hands trembled as she looked up at the police, her face turning visibly pale. The nail polish she was holding fell, staining her white sweater red.
"On what grounds are you taking me to the police station? I didn't plot any murder. I'm not going with you."
Raina Lynn forced herself to sound calm, but the panic in her eyes betrayed her.
"Regarding the car accident involving Miss Lowell's assistant, we have conclusive evidence. Please come with us now."
The lead officer nodded to his two colleagues, signaling them to take Raina Lynn away.
"Let me go! I'm innocent! I want to call my lawyer...!"
Raina Lynn shouted and struggled in a panic, with no regard for her image, looking for all the world like a common shrew throwing a tantrum.
"You'd better quiet down. It's not up to you to decide if you're innocent."
The officer roughly shoved Raina Lynn into the car, his deep voice laced with impatience.
