Aiden Shaw watched her for a moment before leaning over and pulling a napkin from the dispenser on the table. He gently wiped a smudge of grease from the corner of her mouth.
"Uh, Dr. Shaw..."
Laura Lowell froze, her eyelashes fluttering. They were so close she could feel his breath.
'Can't we just have a normal meal?'
Aiden Shaw paused and looked up slightly, his voice deep and magnetic. "You had some grease on the corner of your mouth."
"I could've gotten it myself."
Laura Lowell stiffly took the napkin from Aiden Shaw's hand and wiped haphazardly at her mouth. Then, without another word, she lowered her head and focused on eating her noodles.
Aiden Shaw's phone suddenly rang. He put down his chopsticks, leaned to the side, and pulled it from his pocket. It was a video call from Nancy.
Laura Lowell snuck a glance. When she saw the contact name on the screen, she felt an odd pang of jealousy.
