The group ate and chatted in high spirits. Throughout the meal, Aiden Shaw was constantly putting food on Laura Lowell's plate, even taking the time to debone the fish before placing it on her dish.
After dinner, Laura Lowell and Aiden Shaw headed back together.
"Dr. Shaw, I'd like to stay at my own place tonight."
The wound on Laura Lowell's arm was almost healed, and her fever was gone. Besides, the doctor had already told her she could be discharged the next morning.
Aiden Shaw's long, slender fingers gripped the steering wheel, his other hand resting casually on the open car window. "Alright, let's go home together."
