Mage Wendel pointed to the Magic Tower behind him. Half of it had been destroyed, but the lower structure was still completely intact.
"I've checked. Although this Magic Tower was destroyed, the library inside is almost perfectly preserved!"
"The entrance is just below!"
Master Wendel led the group around to the back of the Magic Tower.
There, an entrance had already been cleared.
They followed the stairs down.
After walking for several hundred meters, a huge metal door made of Refined Steel and engraved with Defense Runes blocked their path.
There was a huge hole in the door, its edges showing signs of having been melted by high temperatures. It had clearly been forced open by some terrifying Power.
"This is it."
Master Wendel said, pointing at the hole.
"I've been inside. It's... nothing short of a treasure trove!"
The group filed inside.
Behind the door was an immense, maze-like underground space.
