RUMBLE...
Three days later, in the afternoon, a dull rumble of thunder echoed from the clear sky without warning.
Raylo, who was in the middle of meditation, snapped his eyes open.
He looked up at the sky.
Over Black Stone Territory, vast swaths of clouds as dark as ink had gathered at some unknown time.
The clouds churned and converged, completely obscuring the Sun and instantly plunging the entirety of Black Stone Territory into gloom.
CRACKLE...
Deep within the clouds, streaks of silvery-white lightning, like giant pythons, darted about frantically, flashing and letting out heart-pounding booms.
A fierce gale erupted between heaven and earth.
In the camp, countless flags whipped and snapped in the wind. Some of the less sturdy tents were even torn from their moorings and sent flying.
"What's going on?"
"Why has the sky changed so suddenly?"
Panicked shouts echoed throughout the camp.
