"Rise, Lisbon."
Raylo set down his quill.
"How are you feeling?"
"Much better, my lord."
Lisbon rose to his feet, a bitter expression on his face.
"It's just... there are some things I can't forget."
Raylo gestured for him to sit, while Ed stood silently behind Raylo like a statue.
The study was quiet, with only the faint crackling of the flame in the fireplace.
Moonlight, who was dozing on the rug before the fireplace, lazily lifted her eyelids. Her pale gold eyes glanced at Lisbon before closing again.
"Tell me, what exactly did you encounter in the Black Stone Mountain Range?"
Raylo got straight to the point.
Lisbon's body tensed instinctively, as if he had been plunged back into a memory he couldn't bear to revisit.
