In the hallway, Aurora Sterling ran into Yvonne's parents coming out after giving their statements. Seeing Aurora, Yvonne's mother tearfully rushed forward and hugged her.
"Thank you... We're so, so grateful..." Yvonne's mother had lost control of her emotions several times that day and now had no strength left. If not for Yvonne's father and Aurora supporting her, she wouldn't have even been able to stand steady.
Yvonne's father helped his wife up, his heart aching for her. He looked at Aurora, his eyes filled with gratitude. "Miss, we are so grateful to you. Our entire family thanks you!" He choked on his words. "If you hadn't told us, we would have remained in the dark. We might have even blamed Yvonne for not being careful when she crossed the street. You let us know the injustice she suffered. You gave us the chance to seek justice for her! Thank you!"
With that, Yvonne's parents bowed to Aurora Sterling in unison.
