"Yvonne, I never expected your future daughter-in-law to be so accomplished! Not bad! Not bad at all!" Scott Vaughn chuckled as he clinked glasses with Yvonne Vaughn. He then smiled at Damien Valerius and raised his glass. "Damien, you've got good taste!"
At this, Yvonne Vaughn's heart practically bloomed. She was stunned by Aurora Sterling's outstanding grades, but more importantly, Scott had actually smiled at Damien—a rare sight indeed. For him to speak to Damien with a smile was a massive breakthrough in their relationship.
Since Scott had taken the initiative to speak to him, Damien, as the younger man, didn't hold back. He raised his glass as well, toasting Scott from across the table. Then, uncle and nephew drained their glasses in one go.
'Truthfully, Damien could understand why Scott gave him and the Valerius family the cold shoulder. At the end of the day, Scott acted this way because he felt his sister, Yvonne, had gotten a raw deal.'
