Faced with Sylvia Vaughn's over-the-top enthusiasm, Joanna Jacobs was just about to refuse when she heard Yvonne Vaughn say with a smile, "Joanna, dear, just do as Sylvia says. What's so good about staying in a cold hotel? It's much nicer when we can all live together, laughing and talking. You don't have much to do right now anyway, so come stay with me at Sylvia's house. That way, we can look after each other. I wouldn't be able to rest easy with you in a hotel all by yourself."
Joanna Jacobs had originally intended to refuse, but after hearing what Yvonne Vaughn said, she could no longer bring herself to say the words. She could only smile and agree.
Sylvia Vaughn was clearly thrilled that Joanna Jacobs would be staying at her home. She held onto Joanna Jacobs's hand, as excited as a child.
