After Linden Jennings left, Clara linked arms with Poppy and guided her over to some chairs. "Careful, careful," she kept saying as they sat down.
Poppy smiled and said, "Clara, you don't have to be so careful. I'm not that delicate."
"That may be true, but it's still better to be safe than sorry. You have a little baby in there, after all." Clara sat down beside her, gently stroking her prominent belly before looking up at her again.
"Poppy, it looks like you and Brother Jennings have made up completely. I'm so relieved. I was the one who told Brother Jennings where to find you. Even though I did it for your sake and the baby's, I know I went against your wishes. I'm so sorry, Poppy. You're not mad at me, are you?"
"Mad? Of course I'm mad at you! If I hadn't run into you today, I wouldn't even want to see you," Poppy said, raising an eyebrow at her with a completely serious expression.
