Rowan Linden was completely unaware of Clara's little scheme. He smiled naturally at Sarah. "Miss Shelby, hello."
Sarah Shelby, however, visibly stiffened when she heard his name. 'This Rowan Linden... he's exactly my type. Before, I would have definitely pursued him, but now...'
Sarah Shelby smiled bitterly to herself. After a long moment, she finally returned his smile. "Dr. Linden, hello!"
After they parted ways with Rowan Linden, Clara Grant looked at Sarah Shelby with some concern and asked, "Sarah, are you okay?"
Sarah Shelby shook her head but didn't say anything.
"If only I had introduced you two sooner, maybe you wouldn't have to marry Ewan Stratton," Clara Grant said regretfully.
"Maybe this is just fate," Sarah Shelby said faintly, her gaze fixed on some distant point.
'Fate? The Sarah I knew never believed in fate!' Clara suddenly felt that the Sarah before her was no longer the same person.
