'And she even called me... Young Madam?!'
Her feigned look of anger had no real bite to it. Seth Quinn still didn't hide the smile on his face, but he did answer her question.
"I asked her to come over and help make some porridge." The last time he made it himself, and while the gesture was sincere, the taste was a bit lacking.
So this time, he simply called Mrs. Cheney over to help, so Clara could have some delicious, stomach-soothing porridge as soon as she woke up.
Clara was a little worried. "Aren't you afraid she'll go back and tell your parents I'm here?"
'What if they get angry and take it out on Seth?'
"Mrs. Cheney already knew you were here before she came over." Seth watched her eyes widen in disbelief and continued to explain, "When I called home, I specifically said I needed Mrs. Cheney to come help make porridge for you."
"And, they didn't stop her? They weren't angry with you?" Clara was truly surprised.
