Just as she was thinking, the bedroom door was pushed open.
Clara instinctively glanced toward the door. It was Seth Quinn. She froze for a moment, and her first thought was, 'Is it too late to pretend I'm asleep!'
That's right. She didn't want to see him right now. She really, really didn't.
'Since he's so disgusted with me, why did he bring me here? Isn't he afraid I'll dirty his apartment? His bed?'
But it was obvious Seth Quinn had already noticed she was awake.
Clara could only frown, endure her headache, and turn her face away, refusing to look at him.
Seth Quinn walked to the side of the bed, deliberately ignoring her sullen demeanor. He simply asked in a low voice, "You're awake? You drank last night. Do you want to sleep a little longer?"
Clara didn't answer. She rubbed her temples for a moment until the pain subsided, then threw off the covers and got out of bed.
