"Sis, you're finally here." Felix Flynn scurried over eagerly.
Ian Quincy's dark eyes glinted. "Who are you calling 'Sis'?"
"Hello, Brother-in-law." Felix Flynn had many flaws, but a slow tongue wasn't one of them.
Ian Quincy shot him a look but didn't say anything, tacitly approving of the title.
Cecilia Adler handed him the letter of introduction. "My father-in-law said you just need to take this letter and report directly to the work unit."
Felix Flynn was illiterate and had no idea what was written on it. He unfolded the letter, frowning. "Sis, what kind of job is it?"
Cecilia Adler was about to read it to him.
Vivian Lee snatched the letter first. When she read that the position was for a manure scooper, her expression twisted. She pointed a trembling finger at Cecilia Adler, too furious to speak.
Felix Flynn had been reluctant at first, but when Cecilia Adler mentioned the monthly salary, he figured he could stomach it.
