"This is much more comfortable than this morning." Cecilia Adler and Ian Quincy arrived at the bridge. Based on the clothes and hairstyle, they recognized the jumper in a single glance. 'Who else could it be but Christal Russell?' It was at least a half-hour trip by trolley from the courtyard house to get here.
'She ran all the way out here just to jump off a bridge?'
Ian Quincy also recognized the person in the river, and his energy returned in a flash.
Just as a bystander was taking off his clothes to jump in and save her, he dove in himself.
SPLASH.
It happened too fast.
Cecilia Adler didn't have time to react.
Her eyes widened in shock. "Ian!"
Cecilia could stay afloat, but she had a fear of heights. She could only run to the end of the bridge, looking for a chance to help.
But Ian remained in the middle of the river, not coming toward the bank. He was bobbing up and down in the water, looking as if he was too exhausted to swim.
