After all, the Swamp Territory was too limiting. If he could establish a foothold on a new map, in a New World, it would open up a whole new realm of possibilities.
So, opening the Underground Space, even having all the Entry Tier Magical Beasts stand guard on the other side of the Gate of Truth—it was all just preparation for the conquest of the New World.
