As luck would have it, Renee Jennings was bent over at the side, washing her hands.
She didn't dare wash her face, afraid her makeup would smudge. Every day, she woke up extra early to apply a full face of makeup before the cameras were set up. She had been sweating a lot just now, so she'd found an excuse to get away from the cameras and touch it up.
Renee Jennings cried out in pain. She felt water splash into her eye, and a few more drops trickled down her cheek.
"Who did that?!"
Jared Woods stood frozen. His buzz cut, now wet, stood up on his head like hedgehog spines. Realizing he'd done something wrong, he looked completely lost.
Chelsea Raines scolded him, then walked over and pulled out a handkerchief to wipe Renee Jennings' face, worried that Renee would cause trouble for her son.
But to her surprise, Renee Jennings shoved her away forcefully and snapped, embarrassed and angry, "What are you doing?!"
