Anxiously, Lucy Summers jabbed Nathaniel's arm. "Quick, apologize to Mrs. Shaw properly."
Nathaniel bowed his head, his expression humble and, upon closer inspection, rather pathetic. "I am truly sorry, President Shaw, Mrs. Shaw. It's all my fault for being so blind and failing to recognize your importance. I spent the entire trip here reflecting on my behavior."
His face filled with remorse. "It was all because I listened to Renee Jennings's nonsense. She has it out for Mrs. Shaw, so she put me up to causing trouble. I... I wasn't thinking straight!"
At the mention of Renee Jennings, a look of disgust crossed Lucy Summers's face. She scolded Nathaniel, "You're just too much of a pushover, Nathaniel, that's how she tricked you. None of this would have happened if it weren't for her! When you get back, you need to teach her a lesson she won't forget. And you need to wise up, too. Stop letting her use you as her pawn..."
