"I only like you. All other women combined aren't half as beautiful as you are!"
Renee Jennings's heart blossomed with joy, but she feigned annoyance. "What nonsense are you talking? I'm not nearly as beautiful as you say. I'm just an ordinary person. It's only in your eyes that I'm some great beauty."
Nathaniel Lynch nodded repeatedly. "With you by my side, no one else could possibly catch my eye."
As the two were flirting, a child's voice suddenly cut in. "My daddy's a liar! He loves looking at pretty ladies!"
Renee Jennings's expression instantly soured. The other guests, however, laughed at the unfiltered words of a child. Margaret Jennings chuckled and teased, "Is that right? Nathan, does your dad look at pretty ladies on his phone every day?"
The others didn't take it seriously, thinking it was just a cute, childish complaint.
