A knock sounded on the hospital room door. Ruby Preston opened it and was stunned. An elderly man in a suit and tie introduced himself as the butler, and behind him stood two dense rows of bodyguards and servants. They announced they were taking Naomi Kenway home for treatment and that a private helicopter was waiting outside.
Ruby Preston was dumbfounded. For a moment, she thought she'd wandered onto a movie set.
She came to her senses and tried to reason with them. "Naomi is already doing much better. I've already contacted a doctor friend of mine, and she'll be here soon. When you're sick, you need to be in a hospital for treatment. No strange new home remedies will work. We have to trust science!"
Her voice grew serious by the end. Ruby Preston had a friend who was extremely superstitious—when she got sick, she'd burn incense and pray at home instead of going to the hospital. It was simply absurd.
