Renee Jennings slammed her chopsticks down, her glare hostile. "What do you mean by that?"
Chelsea Raines was flustered. "I—I didn't mean anything by it." It was the first time she had seen such a vicious expression on Renee Jennings's face.
Naomi Kenway let out a soft laugh, clearly enjoying the show. She decided to play the peacemaker, just as Renee Jennings usually did.
"Renee Jennings, you're scaring Chelsea Raines. She was just trying to be nice and help you out. Why are you being so hostile?"
This was the exact line Renee Jennings usually used. Naomi was curious to see how she'd react to having it thrown back at her.
As expected, Renee Jennings's face darkened. "Don't think I don't know what you two are plotting!"
