On the third floor, Yvette Gunn, the housekeeper who was very close to Jane Chandler, asked, "Such an important banquet, and you're just leaving it to Naomi Kenway?"
Jane Chandler snorted. "No matter what I say, Mother won't believe me. She always thinks I see Naomi with prejudice. I'll use this opportunity to show her just how stupid and incompetent Naomi really is!"
She clutched her throbbing head. "Naomi is completely unreliable. I'd like to see what kind of mess she makes of this. It's better for the Shaw family to be embarrassed now than to be embarrassed time and time again in the future. If I were gone someday, how could I rest easy leaving all the family affairs, big and small, in Naomi's hands?"
