With the sound of a whistle, all the guests shot forward with all their might.
Renee Jennings paddled with so much force that a splash of water flew right into Chelsea Raines's face. Chelsea coughed twice and wiped her face, exclaiming, "What the hell?!"
Renee Jennings was already a meter ahead.
Naomi Kenway was having the hardest time rowing of all the guests. Her small spoon could only create ripples in the water, but the boat itself remained completely still.
Margaret Jennings and Renee Jennings were the most skilled rowers among the guests, but due to the limitations of their tools, even they struggled. The other four guests were now nearly neck and neck, while Naomi Kenway had barely moved from her spot by the shore.
"Ian, your mom's going to lose. She's so slow at rowing," Jared Woods whispered into Ian Shaw's ear, gloating.
Ian Shaw pretended not to hear and turned away slightly.
Jared Woods huffed. "My mom says kids who ignore people are the worst!"
