The line went silent for a few seconds before he refused. "I have an important contract to sign."
"What contract could possibly be more important than your son?!" Naomi Kenway couldn't hold back her anger. "You're Ian's father, yet you've never been to a single parent-child activity. Don't you feel like you're failing him? What do you think he wants? Do you really believe those expensive gifts you bring him are what he truly needs?"
"I went to pick Ian up once and saw the other kids excluding him. Do you know why that is?"
Ethan Shaw didn't answer. Naomi Kenway took a deep breath. "It's because we're never there! The other kids at kindergarten treat Ian like he's a 'wild child,' an 'outcast'! Ian is quiet and has no friends. Haven't you ever stopped to wonder why?!"
