The adult Flame Rat was unaware that it and its young were being targeted. By the time it sensed something was amiss, it was already too late.
SWOOSH!
A millstone-sized, blazing orange-red Fireball shot out from behind the large tree.
The adult Flame Rat had just opened its mouth to let out a piercing shriek, warning its young to flee into their burrow, when the terrifying Fireball was already upon it.p>
BOOM.
The Fireball struck the adult Flame Rat. With a cultivation of only the First Rank Middle Stage, the adult Flame Rat stood no chance against the attack. It was instantly blasted until it was charred black, all signs of life gone.
SQUEAK SQUEAK SQUEAK...
The young Flame Rats that had come out to play saw the lifeless adult and were frozen in fear, standing completely still.
RUSTLE RUSTLE RUSTLE...
The leaves rustled as a hand pushed aside the dense branches.
