Elias Lennox was knocked to the ground. Clutching his chest, he spat out a mouthful of blood and watched with bitter resentment as the figure gradually faded into the distance.
He was always like this, using force to prove he was right.
"Damn it…"
He slammed his fist into the ground in frustration.
Centipede, terrified, rushed to stop him, only to meet a pair of pitch-black, bottomless eyes.
His heart froze.
He could feel the master before him sinking completely into darkness.
"Master, are you okay?"
A smile crept onto Elias Lennox's lips, and his laughter grew louder and clearer.
It sounded crazed, but it was steeped in despair.
Centipede's heart ached for him.
The master he'd watched grow up had never been this despairing.
Even when he found out he had dissociative identity disorder, he wasn't this despairing.
"Mr. Centipede, I'm tired. I'm so, so tired…"
After his laughter subsided, a fragile expression finally appeared on Elias Lennox's face.
