Devi stretched as if he were standing in the Void, his gaze fixed on the spacewalk airlock.
"Mr. Devi, for your safety during the spacewalk, we've prepared a safety tether to prevent you from drifting too far from the craft. Please, you must use it."
Just then, a voice came over the comms.
The greatest fear during a spacewalk is detaching from the craft. Drifting helplessly in zero gravity is a death sentence; you can only wait to die.
So even though Devi was forgoing a spacesuit, he still had to use a safety tether. To do otherwise would be suicide.
He was here for his Cultivation, not to throw his life away.
"That won't be necessary."
However, Devi rejected the perfectly reasonable suggestion. A faint smile touched his lips. "Have you ever seen a grown man walk the earth still attached to his umbilical cord?"
